The naming is the thing worth looking at, because it reveals how the material is being framed.

This site is built around the 2014 iCloud breach — a criminal intrusion into private accounts belonging to named women — and its own navigation splits the material into a first part, a second version, and best-of listings by year. A break-in has been given instalments, sequels and annual highlights. It is presented in the shape of a media franchise with an ongoing release schedule.

That framing does real work. Numbering something as a series implies more is coming and turns each new set of images taken in that intrusion into an anticipated release rather than another instance of the same crime. It also flattens the distinction between the original breach and everything subsequently gathered under the same brand, so that anything posted here arrives pre-labelled as part of an established phenomenon.

The women named across these listings were photographed privately, had their accounts broken into, and have spent a decade unable to make the results disappear. Several have described the effect publicly.

There is no version of this that is defensible, and the site's own structure — the parts, the editions, the yearly rankings — is a fair measure of how it regards the people involved.
