Manhwa68 Review

The titles here carry a tag most scanlation sites never bother with: “(Official).” Manhwa68 marks which of its translations are licensed releases against which are fan-made, and that distinction — usually invisible on a free reader — is the most interesting thing about it.

It is a free reader for adult Korean manhwa, more than a thousand series deep, updated fast, sorted by the genre and BL/GL categories the format uses. The reading experience is the standard vertical-scroll webtoon one, free with an optional account.

That official-versus-fan labelling matters because it changes what a reader is actually doing. An official release is the licensed English version; a fan translation is not, and a site that mixes both under one roof is part legitimate reader, part scanlation archive — and it at least tells you which is which, chapter by chapter.

Where the unofficial chapters come from is the usual answer: fan groups translating commercial Korean releases the publishers are not party to. As a reader it is fast and deep; the “official” tags are the part worth reading before you assume everything here is licensed.
