Terk Review

This one has a schedule rather than a catalogue. Each day of the week carries its own theme and its own name — anal on Thursdays, public on Fridays, a crazy Saturday, a wtf Sunday — and the front page is built as today's selection with the previous days stacked behind it. That is how a television channel is programmed, not how a video library is organised, and it makes the site something you visit on a particular day rather than search.

The writing follows the same idea. Titles are put as reactions and questions rather than descriptions, so the list reads as somebody's running commentary on what they found.

One of the weekly slots is worth flagging plainly. A recurring day given over to material premised on people being drunk is a standing commitment to a scenario in which the capacity to agree is precisely what is in doubt, and scheduling it weekly is a decision rather than an accident of the archive.

It is Dutch, small, free, with a personal list you can save to and a twenty-four-hour trending panel. The theme index is the only other way in.
