"What should I use instead of PornTrex" is a question with a hidden variable in it, and the ranked lists that answer it almost never ask what the variable is. People arrive at that site for at least four separable reasons, and a replacement that covers one of them may be useless for the others.
So start by looking at what is actually there.
What the site is made of
Inspected directly, PornTrex presents as a free HD and 4K tube with a wider set of parts than most: alongside the video grid there are Models, Channels, Albums, Playlists, a Community section, and tags. Entry is gated by an age-affirmation modal. There is an account system, an upload route, downloads available to signed-in members, and references to a prime tier sitting alongside free access.

Whether that suits you depends entirely on which of the four reasons above brought you here — it is strong on structure and resolution, and it is a different proposition on community.
The thing the format hides
Every site in this category — including the one being replaced — runs substantially on material uploaded by accounts, and a large share of what circulates is studio-produced work. Nothing published on these homepages indicates what arrangement, if any, exists with the companies that made those scenes. The original article ranked ten destinations. Reproducing that ranking would have required checking them, and I could not: two of the named sites refused automated inspection outright, and the remainder were not verified.
