Look at where the original version of this page actually sent you. Three of its ten entries resolve to `xhamster.com/search/anal?sort=best`, `xvideos.com/?k=anal&top` and `pornhub.com/video?c=35&o=mv&cc=us&hd=1`. Those are not ten sites and three of them are not sites at all — they are a search box, a keyword query and a category ID with the high-definition filter switched on, presented as separate destinations with their own rankings and their own paragraphs of praise.
That is worth pausing on, because it is the whole problem with the format. Once you notice that a third of the list is URL parameters, the obvious next question is what the other seven are, and that turns out to be a more interesting question than which one is best.
The list is three different kinds of thing wearing one hat
Sort the eleven destinations by what they physically do and they fall apart into groups that have almost nothing in common.
Some of them hold nothing. SxyPrn — the site the whole list was pitched as an escape from — is the clearest case. Its pages load, and each video entry points at a player sitting on a different domain entirely: vidara.so, doodstream.com, lulustream.com. The abuse address in the footer is a Gmail account. Ass4All works the same way from the other end: a wall of thumbnails that are outbound redirects, with a footer section promoting further link pages of the same construction. Neither one is a catalogue. Both are indexes of other people's file hosts, which is a real and useful thing to be, but it is not the thing the original article described.
Some of them hold their own material and say so. Eporner's footer describes the site as a hosting service, with an upload route, named uploader accounts on every clip, and DMCA, 2257, terms and content-removal pages. PornTrex is built the same way: accounts, an upload prompt, an age gate, DMCA and 2257 in the footer. These are structurally different animals from the link pages, and the difference is not cosmetic.
Some of them are the general tubes with a filter on. That is the three query strings. A category page on xHamster is xHamster.
Four more — AssoAss, iWank, PornPics and HQporner — refused automated requests, so this article says nothing about how they are built. That gap is the honest state of the check, not a hedge.
Provenance is the axis, and nobody lists it
If the sites hold roughly interchangeable material, ranking them on catalogue depth or interface polish is ranking them on nothing. What genuinely separates them is where a clip came from and what happens when someone wants it taken down, and that varies enormously across this list.
At one end sits Pornhub's current regime. In December 2020, after a New York Times column about the site's moderation and the withdrawal of the major card networks, its operator removed uploads from unverified accounts and restricted uploading to verified accounts and content partners. Whatever you make of what preceded it, the result is a pipeline with an identity check at the front.
In the middle sit the open upload tubes, where anyone with an account can post and the correction mechanism is a takedown form after the fact.
At the far end sit the link indexes, where there is no pipeline to check because nothing is being hosted. A takedown request to SxyPrn's Gmail address concerns an embed, and the file it points at lives on a host with no stated relationship to the page that framed it. If a clip vanishes from one of these pages next month, it is usually because the host it was pointing at went away — which is also why link pages of this kind rot faster than anything else in the category.
None of that appears in a rankings article, because none of it can be turned into a superlative.
The ownership loop nobody mentions
Here is the part that makes "alternatives" a strange word for this list.
XVideos is operated by WGCZ Holding, a company registered on Krakovská in Prague. WGCZ is also the parent of XNXX, and it acquired LegalPorno — the studio brand that then became AnalVids. It also owns Bang Bros and Private Media Group, and bought the Penthouse brand in 2018.
So the genre's flagship production house and one of the ten recommended alternatives to SxyPrn answer to the same holding company. A reader clicking from the XVideos entry to an AnalVids scene has not moved between competitors; they have moved between two properties on one balance sheet.
xHamster is genuinely separate — it is operated by Hammy Media, registered in Limassol, Cyprus. But you would not learn either fact from a list that treats each entry as an independent discovery.
What to actually check
None of this makes any destination good or bad. It makes the ranking meaningless and gives you better questions to ask, all of which you can answer yourself in about a minute per site.
Does the video play from this domain or somewhere else? Right-click the player, or watch the status bar as it loads. A third-party host means you are looking at a frame, and everything about the clip's future is outside the page you are on.
Does the footer carry a 2257 statement and a content-removal route? Their presence is not proof of anything. Their absence tells you the operator has not bothered with the paperwork that hosting normally implies.
Is there an uploader name on the clip? An attributed upload can be traced to a channel and, from there, sometimes to the studio that made it. An unattributed one cannot be traced anywhere.
Is the entry a site or a search? If the address has a `?` in it, you are being sold a filter on something you already had.
Is it the same company twice? Corporate registration for the larger operators is public, and the answer is frequently yes.
Run those four or five checks and the "top ten" collapses into perhaps three genuinely distinct things plus a set of wrappers — which is a more useful map of the category than any ordering of them by enthusiasm.
