Two numbers on this entrance page count the same thing. A strapline under the masthead reads 200,000+ verified reviews, since 2010. A statistics strip further down the same page reads 104K+ verified reviews. Both are the site describing its own archive, and they are not the same figure.

The pitch is built against classified advertising rather than in favour of anything in particular: three numbered blocks headed Discussion, not classifieds, Verified on both sides, and Independent by design. The site says verification runs by selfie or identity document for providers and members alike, and that it is impossible to fake — a statement about its own process that a visitor has no way to test from outside it.

Geography is stated twice and differently as well. The description names Washington, Seattle, New York and California; the strip below says three countries and a global network of providers.
