Whos.tv describes itself as an image-search engine over Japanese adult video: a claimed 300,000 titles and 20,000 actresses, with frame-level recognition that matches a still to a video ID and marks the minute it appears. The browsing side is sorted by visual attributes — clothing, location, pose — which is exactly what frame recognition makes possible.

It runs on a points economy instead of a subscription. Daily sign-ins, invites and registration all grant points, and searches spend them, which gamifies use and leans on referrals. Interface languages include Chinese, Japanese and English.

The reverse-search premise is both the draw and the caveat. A tool whose purpose is establishing which video a given clip belongs to is only as clean as the catalogue it matches against, and that catalogue is not something the front page accounts for.
