Upload a face and it returns the adult performers it thinks look most like that person — a facial-recognition tool pointed at a porn catalogue, which is a narrower and more loaded idea than a search box.

DoppelBanger runs an AI face-matching pipeline: a photo goes in, an embedding is computed, and lookalike performers come back, with a celebrity-match gallery as the demo. It is free, and it advertises “no storage” and private matching as a selling point.

That privacy claim is the crux and cannot be checked from outside. Face-matching works by comparing a biometric signature against a catalogue, and whether uploaded photos are truly discarded is exactly the kind of assurance a front page can assert but a visitor cannot verify. The novelty of the result rides on that trust.

Treated as a toy it is a face-similarity gimmick; treated seriously it is a reminder that the same technology which finds a “twin” also identifies a real person from a still. The tool does the first and cannot promise it isn't enabling the second.
